About This Service

MAS run bespoke helplines on all aspects of health care and information/awareness. These can be run from 1 hour a day to 24 hours a day 7 days a week covering:

  • Vaccination
  • Mother/child health
  • Men’s health (ED and others)
  • Bereavement
  • Product launch support
  • Community care
  • Paediatrics
  • Respiratory
  • Genetic and long term conditions

MAS can also deal with emergency situations. Product recalls/illegal tampering/media scares and NHS/Governmental reports. MAS nurses have for over 20 years worked closely and sensitively in dealing with callers who may be in distress or worried over arising emergency issues, sound dialogue can be so helpful in guiding callers to other areas of help.

Case Example

A substance occurring naturally in the environment was found to be present in Dentinox (teething) Gel. Although there was no risk to babies being given this product, the manufacturers decided to recall all of the product for reformulation. MAS nurses were commissioned to provide a 24 hour helpline for worried parents and health care professionals – the main aim was to reassure and give instruction of returning the gel to where it was purchased for a full refund. This project which ran over the Christmas and New Year holidays was promoted by a PR company and by the communications department of Boots through their members’ magazine.
